Big Woods Movement Collective:
Our Why, What and How
We are committed to global healing through local outreach and community centered work using the lens of dance and movement-based methods to bring about a healthier way of living and being in our bodies, minds, and spirits.
Nonprofit Organization
The Big Woods Movement Collective was founded to improve the spiritual, physical, mental, and social health of Northfield and the surrounding area through Somatic Movement Therapy based classes.
Focus on Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
Our work offers an integrated, accessible curriculum to support engaging movement experiences for a diverse community of all ages, incomes, and abilities to create a collective of resilient artists.

Our Outreach
-
We offer classes for youth and adults each week at our rehearsal space.
-
We offer public outreach at events like the Northfield Earth Day celebration, our annual festival, the holiday NOTcracker performance, spring recitals and more.
-
Let’s partner together with your nonprofit, school, senior living or healthcare program to bring movement to all bodies.
-
Somatic Movement Therapy is essential in order to learn to read yourself and others through nonverbal cues. It can be used to teach resilience and calm in uncomfortable situations.
